Atalanta’s 2025-2026 Fourth Kit, designed by New Balance for the club’s traditional Christmas Match, made its on-pitch debut last week in the home fixture against Cagliari. Unveiled just days before the game, the special-edition jersey captured immediate attention for its bold aesthetics and symbolic significance. More than a match shirt, it embodies a fusion of design innovation, community values, and the long-standing traditions surrounding Atalanta’s most distinctive winter fixture.
Design and Technical Features
The Fourth Kit presents a striking departure from Atalanta’s conventional striped identity. New Balance introduced an all-over abstract graphic featuring dynamic wave patterns in blue, black, and white. These fluid, oscillating lines create an optical-illusion effect and contribute to a sense of motion across the entire garment. A warped grid motif adds structural depth, giving the jersey a distinctly futuristic visual profile.
Premium detailing enhances the overall look. The Atalanta badge is rendered with an iridescent, holographic finish that shifts in tone depending on lighting, while the raised glossy New Balance logo brings extra dimension to the design. The black V-neck collar—accented with gold and blue—adds a refined contrast, and the inside of the neckline includes the club’s mantra, “LA MAGLIA SUDATA SEMPRE” a tribute to effort and dedication.
A special inscription across the chest—“Christmas Match – Atalanta vs Cagliari – 13 December 2025”—marks the jersey as a limited-edition release. Constructed with NB Dry technology, the shirt was engineered to deliver breathability, comfort, and moisture management during high-intensity play.
History and Inspiration
Although the Fourth Kit embraces a contemporary aesthetic, it remains connected to Atalanta’s Nerazzurri heritage. The wave pattern reinterprets the club’s traditional colors through a modern lens and builds on visual ideas introduced in this season’s Third Kit. The flowing shapes also echo the stylized hair of the Goddess Atalanta depicted in the club crest, subtly tying the design to the team’s longstanding iconography.
The release was accompanied by the communication campaign “The Unsung Heroes of Matchday” which highlighted the essential workers—stewards, stadium staff, drivers, and support personnel—who make matchdays possible despite often being unable to watch the game themselves. This storytelling dimension added cultural depth to the launch, connecting the jersey with the broader community around the club.
Usage and Debut
The new Fourth Kit was worn for the first time on 13 December 2025 during the 15th edition of Atalanta’s Christmas Match at the New Balance Arena. The event, promoted annually by president Antonio Percassi, once again combined football with a strong charitable spirit.
As tradition dictates, the match-worn jerseys are now part of a charity auction, with proceeds donated to local initiatives. The auction opened on 15 December 2025 and will run until 12 January 2026, offering supporters and collectors the opportunity to secure a unique piece of club history.
